  • Product Reviews:
Like other Blaupunkt receivers (in my experience), this delivers top of the line audio level.

However, it's software must be awful and I cannot find any firmware updates. Examples:

-MP3 CDs: takes ~30 seconds to skip a song when on shuffle. Tends to get into loops of 6 or so songs and you have to eject the compact disc and re-insert to get out of it. When you open the interface to eject and re-insert a CD, if you don't do it quickly (under 30 seconds), the beneficiary cuts off and you have to power it back on to insert a new compact disc.

-USB connection: this will play MP3s directly off of a USB stick, which is really cool, except once again, it takes a while to skip songs when on shuffle. A little faster than the CDs though, probably 15 to 20 seconds. With this nouns, the song will start cutting out and get really distorted while it is trying to skip to a new song. Frequently (every 3 days), the USB stick stops responding. Sometimes I can unplug it, change the source, plug rear legs in and all is fine, but other times I have to completely turn off my coup¨¦ before it will be recognized again. This connection also gets stuck surrounded by loops, though they are a bit longer (maybe 10 songs).

The Bluetooth phone connection is really cool, I will give it that. Works well so long as you do not try to make call with the stereo interface controls, because they are not intuitive. Will update if I find firmware that fixes my problems.
I bought this radio for bluetooth phone call.
The initial firmware was 8.08 and bluetooth 1.2
Recently I found the firmware were upgraded 8.12 and bluetooth 2.0
But the blaupunkt.com/us/ did not enjoy it, I downloaded blaupunkt.com/de/
and tried to upgrade, but as instructed the radio display shows 'SELECT PROPER FILE', I request how to solve it, but they replied I downloaded correct one but my PC firewall problem.
HORRIBLE, LOWEST LEVEL OF CUSTOMER SERVICE, DO NOT BUY!!!!!!>
    Pros:
    - I love the sound quality.
    - Plays all mp3s (fixed bitrate, VBR etc) fine either from USB or a background CD.
    - Rich features, especially the aux mix feature.
    - Bluetooth phone connectivity is good.

Cons: (please note that the cons catalogue is long because that's what people would want to know and it does not make this a bad product)
    - First, the headunit may be a little bit too long! Mine projects out from the dashboard by almost partially an inch.
    - Shuffle is an issue. I gets into loops (see previous reviews).
    - The player jumps from playlist mode to normal folder based play mode when you stop and start the vehicle the next time. In other words, when you stop the car, it remembers the last song that was playing. When you start it again, it starts up surrounded by the regular folder based play mode and starts the same song.
    - A2DP streaming works. But it does not seem to work well. When I couple my A2DP player the first time things work. But the next time it somehow does not connect. I have to delete the exiting pairing and re-pair again! My A2DP source is a Cowon S9 mp3 player.
    - The bluetooth phone connectivity is good. But they could have made better use of the numeric push button pad. I could not find a way to "speed dial" by pressing and holding a number on the keypad. Voice dial requires you to go though the menu! The software _allows_ you to long press the green phone button to directly go to the radio phone book.
    - This is probably the most annoying sector. Apparently there is an update to the firmware. It is on the blaupunkt site. But the current firmware update function seems to be broken, so there is no way to update! If someone found a method to update the firmware using other means please post! I purchased mine from Amazon, US.
