    CTEK Power's Multi US 7002 is a primary switch mode battery charger with pulse maintenance, representing state-of-the-art technology for battery charging. The Multi US 7002 features multiple charging modes, as okay as a unique 8-step charging curve.     Eight-step Automatic Battery Charging Cycle
    Going forward, there is no need for any specific knowledge of batteries or their charging methods; CTEK's Multi US 7002 will give somebody a lift care of that. Once you switched to the preferred mode, the charger takes its own readings and then begin to charge the battery in 8 steps. These include: desulphation, allowing for possible reconditioning of batteries that have lost power due nonuse.; Soft Start, which charges until the battery's terminal voltage have risen to a preset level; Bulk, in which primary charging to approximately 80% occurs; Absorption, a final charging stage where voltage is kept at a preset rank; Analysis, during which charging a suspended and voltage measured; Recondition, where the battery is fed a constant current of 1.5A and maximum voltage of 15.7V; Float, during which constant voltage is maintained; and finally Pulse/Maintenance Charging, contained by which the battery receives a pulse of electricity when the voltage drops below 95%, keeping the battery in unflawed condition indefinitely when it is not used. The Multi US 7002 is also perfectly suited for Optima Yellow Top batteries and can also be connected for months, which is ideal for seasonal vehicle.

    Multiple Modes for Flexible Use
    The Multi US 7002 is specifically developed for different needs, vehicles and batteries. With this in mind users can choose between several different modes. These include: Normal, for drizzling, maintenance-free and most Gel batteries; Cold Weather mode, recommended for use in conditions <41°F; Supply Mode, a maintenance mode supplying a constant voltage of 13.6V; and Recond Mode, a unique mode used to recondition battery that have been severely discharged.

    Charging for All-weather Conditions
    A very light and compact charger, but still extremely robust and wet and dust resistant (IP65 classification), the Multi US 7002 is designed to charge and maintain batteries, no matter the weather, temperature or situation. The Multi US 7002 is certified for use between –4°F and +122°F. In proclaim to make things easier and more convenient, the Comfort Connect (eyelet terminals) can be permanently connected to the vehicle’s battery.

    All CTEK models are designed to consider the safety of the user. They are spark free, making the nouns much easier and safer considering the gases batteries normally produce. The Multi US 7002 is also protected from reverse-polarity connections and is short-circuit proof.     * Back current drain is what drains the battery if the charger is connected without the power cord connected.
    ** Ripple describes the ability of the current and voltage. A high current ripple heats the battery and shortens its life. A linear charger have a current ripple of 70–400% which is much larger than the maximum 5% for a modern sealed battery. High voltage ripple could harm other equipment that is connected to the battery-operated. The Multi US 7002 delivers voltage and current with very low ripple. The battery have a long service life and there is no risk of damage to other electronic devices connected to the battery.

      I have for a moment battery charger(50 amp) and a big standup charger(200 amp), and this little fellow has pretty much made them obsolete, at least contained by my garage. I really love the multiple step charging cycles of this smart charger. I have reconditioned several batteries and they have all come back great.
      I first saw CTEK battery chargers featured on Dream Car Garage, and they spoke highly of it. Superior electronics, technology, etc, etc. Being an avid car and boat enthusiast, I also saw ad in some publications and decided to try it out. Right of the box I thought "WOW" is this thing small (about 12"x4"x2"), and less than 3 pounds. I researched CTEK through the homepage and saw that it is approved for Optima battery which I have for my classic cars and my boat. I used this charger on my trolling motor batteries and took readings before and after use. I fully charged my battery with my old charger and the batteries read 12.4 and 12.9 volts. I plugged the CTEK charger in and put it within RECON mode and took readings the next morning. The batteries read 14.4 volts and 14.6 volts. The CTEK charger was competent to pump in some extra power! I took my boat out, trolled all day, I barely tap into the 2nd battery. I took my boat out a couple more times with the same results. UNBELIEVABLE! Before I used to pray I was getting backbone to the launch ramp, and now I'm barely using my second battery! It's made me a believer. Even though it's waterproof, I did't mount it because singular single bank. Maybe they will come out with a multi-bank charger. If they do, I will definitely buy that charger too. I am very impressed near this charger. Only downside, the manual doesn't explain charger functions all that well, but it's really not hard to digit out. 5 Stars from me!
      I've always owned the typical 15lb car charger. This is quite a step up in technology - smaller and lighter than a quart of milk, and comes next to a nice enough carrying pouch for the charger and any accessories you might add. I also bought the cigarette lighter attachment, so I don't even have to friendly the car's hood/trunk and remove the battery terminal cover to charge the car. This is a good choice to keep an infrequently-driven weekend motor (or boat) topped off. I feel much more comfortable keeping one of these connected for battery maintenance than the old-style dumber chargers.

      It's not as suitable as one of those old-style boxes for blasting a early 50amp charge into a completely dead battery to get the car started - the charge rate is an approximately steady 7 amps until the freestyle is charged. The old style chargers may begin at 10, 20, or even 50 amps, then taper off hurriedly below that as the battery begins to take a charge.

      One thing in the order of most lead-acid car batteries - you really don't want to let them get completely inert, or they permanently lose some of their ability to take and deliver a charge.

      It is a charger
      Not much to write. It charges fine and can be left on the battery as a maintainer. It is very buoyant and totally silent. Kind of expensive though.
