    • Product Reviews:
I be getting terrible fuel economy on my Corolla with these Platinum 4 plugs. They cost 6-8 times more than the OEM NGK plugs and for what? 12-15 mpg city+freeway mixed driving for an econobox?I installed OEM NGK plugs and saw to my satisfaction that cheaper OEM plugs brought me better fuel cutback 25+ MPG.Always use OEM parts on your cars.Do not be misled by pseudo performance increase claims.Keep your money in your pocket.
I installed these spark plugs in 2001 Tundra and they improved the performance and gas mileage. Just ordered another set for my 2006 Tundra and will order a set for my 2002 Camary soon.
Bosch Platinum, Platinum 2 and Platinum 4 are differentiated by number of ground electrodes and diameter of center platinum electrode. A Bosch service rep just this minute told me that Bosch has reduced the diameter of platinum used in the Platinum 4 to maintain profit margins given the increasing cost of commodities.

Draw you own conclusions, but some other facts to consider:

*1.Bosch Platinum is NOT OE in any make/model and never have been since it's introduction in 1983.

*2.Bosch Platinum has not been sold within Germany since the late 1980's due to poor reputation.

*3.Bosch Platinum has one of the highest gross margin percentage of any aftermarket plug sold, thus a large retail following in the USA.

*4.Bosch does make OEM designed plugs using platinum, silver and other precious metals that should NOT be confused with their aftermarket Platinum plug series.
